Yoav is responsible for defining and executing HubSpot's platform strategy. In that role, he manages a small team of developers who are building the foundation for the next generation of HubSpot products, providing APIs for other HubSpot developers and 3rd parties, and creating a developer ecosystem around HubSpot. He works on platform business development and integration opportunities and provides technology guidance to the entire engineering team.
From 2007 to 2010, Yoav was HubSpot's Vice President of Engineering. In that role, Yoav put in place HubSpot's product development framework, including all the processes and standards to facilitate team growth by several multiples, and customer growth from a few dozen to thousands.
Prior to joining HubSpot, Yoav was the first employee and Senior Architect at CarGurus, an online automotive social networking company. In his role at CarGurus, Yoav crafted the company's technology platform from the ground up, establishing its overall architecture and growing the website to achieving more than 5,000,000 page views per month. Yoav led product design and development, built and managed the engineering team, and led the company's data center operations.
Before CarGurus, Yoav held various consulting, product development and team leadership positions in the pharmaceutical industry as well as at a traditional consulting firm. Yoav received an MS in Engineering Management from the MIT Sloan School of Management as well as BS and MS degrees in Computer Systems Engineering, summa cum laude, from Boston University.
Yoav is an active contributor to numerous open-source software projects and organizations, most notably the Apache Software Foundation, where he is an elected member and occasional officer.
