About Learning Today
Learning Today is an Internet-based reading and math program offering educational software, including highly interactive reading and math games, for at-risk students. The company has tremendously expanded its online presence and its CEO, Dale Baker, and instructional technology manager, Denis Soukhanov, share how they have used HubSpot to achieve this progress.
Challenge: Reaching Target Audience
Before HubSpot, Learning Today faced a challenge that many businesses share—how to effectively reach its target audience. Pitching a product to an industry of 14,000 national school districts, after all, is not easy. “We have gone to tradeshows over the years, tried all sorts of marketing methods and opportunities and, quite frankly, have not done very well in that area,” said Dale.
Solution: Enhanced Blogging and Tracking Tools
On the content development side, the HubSpot software provided Learning Today with an easy-to-optimize blogging platform. The company increased its blog readership to over 20,000 people, directly reaching its target audience.
Learning Today also sees great benefit in HubSpot’s mix of marketing analytics. Denis uses the Sources tool to keep track of different marketing channels and measure the company’s progress based on multiple traffic streams, including organic traffic, referrals and social media.
Results: Tremendous Increase in Organic Traffic and Blog Audience
- Doubled organic traffic and referrals in the past six months
- Generated over 850 leads in the past six months
- Attracted blog readership of 23,765 and over 760 blog subscribers
- Increased leads by 200-300%
Learning Today has achieved tremendous progress in attracting new traffic. Organic traffic alone has doubled in the last six months, from 14,765 visits in September to 28,980 in February. Referrals more than doubled as well, from 11,054 in September to over 28,440 in February.

The company has been successful in attracting qualified leads. According to Dale, Learning Today’s site now generates 5-10 leads per day. This is a result of constant blogging and customer engagement. In the past 30 days alone, the company’s blog posts have generated over 40 comments.

Using HubSpot, Learning Today has tackled the challenge of reaching its target audience. “The leads that we get now understand what our product is all about,” said Dale. “They reach us and are very informed about what we do and how we do it.”
