In September 2017, HubSpot for Startups announced a new program to help Series A startups grow faster. Started as a beta, the program partnered with the top 100 global VC firms as ranked by CB Insights to provide Series A startups with access to top-notch educational resources, executive mentorship, and 50% off HubSpot’s marketing and sales software.

We’re excited to announce that as of today, the program is moving out of beta and will be open to partnerships with all VCs making Series A investments so that their startups may take advantage of the program.

“We started the program several months ago as a way to address a need in the market for startups who are trying to scale their marketing and sales in the most effective and efficient way,” says Kim Walsh, Global VP of HubSpot for Startups. “The Series A program puts structure, education, and top-notch marketing and sales tools into the hands of those companies to help them truly accelerate growth and customer acquisition.”

After launching the beta, the HubSpot for Startups team connected with participating VCs and startups to understand what was truly driving value, and incorporated their feedback into the final program. One of the biggest changes to the program is increasing the window of eligibility, from needing to have received a Series A funding round within 6 months, to 12 months. The other key theme was to lean into the emphasis on education and mentorship.

“Newly funded Series A companies are constantly getting barraged with offer after startup offer. So when we created the program, we wanted to focus on adding value on top of the product,” adds Walsh. “We’re pairing a top-notch integrated software platform with education and executive mentorship from the likes of HubSpot CEO Brian Halligan to really add fuel to these startups’ growth.”

Startups wishing to apply to the Series A program need to be affiliated with a partner VC of the program and have received their Series A funding within the last 12 months. If a startup has received funding from a VC not listed as a partner, they can always reach out to them to apply to become a partner.
