What is it?
The media plugin within the rich text editor has been rebranded as the embed plugin and now includes a fresh new look, and allows for a better editing experience. In addition, the color picker now uses the same UI as the rest of HubSpot’s tools, and is more straightforward and intuitive to use.
Why does it matter?
When you embedded a media into a rich text module in the past, it would appear in the editor as a large blue box.
But of course, you want to know exactly what your content will look like when you take it live, while you’re editing it. The newly named embed plugin will insert the video preview directly into the rich text editor, giving you a more intuitive editing experience.
In the spirit of a more intuitive editing experience, we’ve also revamped the color picker, which now includes a new opacity control, giving you even more control over how your text or background colors appear.
How does it work?
When you click on the embed plugin within the rich text editor’s toolbar, you’ll be able to insert a URL, or an embed code for the asset you want to add to your rich text module. Once you’ve copied in your content and clicked ‘OK,’ a preview will appear within the editor, showing the content exactly as it will look on the live page.
When you go to change your text or background color, you’ll see the option to select from a predetermined list of colors. If you select ‘advanced,’ you’ll be given the option to use a gradient color selector, or enter in your own hex or RGB code. You can also adjust the opacity of your selected color with the opacity control.
Who gets it?
We are in the process of rolling these features out to all Marketing Hub Basic, Professional, and Enterprise users. The live preview in particular is only available to a small subset of users at this time. In the coming weeks, both updates will be available to all Marketing Hub users.
What language is it in?
