An event press release is a statement delivered to the news media to publicize and announce a social occasion.

How soon before an event should you send out a press release?

Give journalists at least a week of lead time to write about your event, but don't post your press release too early! It depends on the nature of your event, but one or two months in advance is a good rule of thumb.
