A template setup is when the HubSpot Migrations Team recreates your existing website style and builds a set of Blog / Landing Page templates that closely resemble your website within the HubSpot platform.
Template Setup Overview
The HubSpot Template Setup Service provides a defined set of templates that closely resemble your website. These templates use the drag-and-drop functionality so you can easily start creating pages and blog posts without coding knowledge. Not only are the templates user-friendly, but they also provide a consistent viewing experience for your visitors as they navigate from your website to your HubSpot hosted content.
Please note: This is a standardized service, not a tailored design or redesign process. HubSpot will match your website's header, footer, and typography as closely as possible, while providing standardized page body layouts that you can customize. The content in the body of your page will not be included, only the content in your header and footer.
The HubSpot Migrations Team will create the below standard set of templates, global groups, and coded files to match your external website.
What's Not Included
Please note that email templates are not included (if this is something you are interested in, check out our Email Template Rebuild service). Below are some examples of content types and features that HubSpot can’t migrate:
Content will not be migrated as part of a template setup. If you wish to have your blog or website content migrated to HubSpot, please contact your primary point of contact at HubSpot and they will advise you on next steps.
Mega menus, image based menus, or menus with non-linked content (descriptions or paragraph content) will become simple dropdown menus.
Flash websites, Flash navigation, and Flash with embedded links/multiple files associated.
Live chat (though some embeddable JS services can be OK).
3rd party custom social sharing widgets will not be included. Standard Twitter and Facebook feeds will be included.
Login fields will not be included.
Dynamic shopping carts will not be included. The shopping cart icon will be included, but the count of items in the cart will not.
Popup forms and banner notifications will not be included.
3rd party plugins will not be included, including Disqus or Facebook commenting, author plugins, and custom social media feeds.
What May Change
Below are some examples of content types and features that may change as a result of migrating your website into HubSpot:
Once your template setup is marked as complete, you will have 60 days to report any issues or inconsistencies to our Design Triage team. Any changes you make to these templates will not be supported by our team; for small updates, please reach out to our 24/7 Support Team and for larger design updates please contact a HubSpot Partner for assistance.
Can you customize a Marketplace template with our company’s branding?
No. If you wish to download a Marketplace template and customize it to fit your branding, please reach out to the Marketplace Provider for the template to discuss customizing the theme.
Will a template setup include all of the existing languages on my site?
No, we will match the language specified in the URL to migrate. To add more templates with different languages, you can choose to clone the templates we create and update the language used or purchase further template setups for each language.
Do I need to submit a live URL for the URL to migrate?
Yes. During a migration we work to bring over your website as closely as possible which involves seeing what code your current site is using. Therefore we need a live URL to perform a migration and can’t do a migration based off of an image or PSD file.
What URL should I submit to migrate?
The URL you submit to migrate should have the header, footer, and typography that you want your templates in HubSpot to have. The page should also have a form on it so we can bring over the form styling for forms on landing pages and other content.
Can I submit a password protected page?
Yes. If you want to submit a password protected page, please just note a username and password that we can use to access the page for the migration.
How long will my template setup take once it is started?
A template setup typically takes 1-2 weeks from when you submit the URLs to migrate.
How long do I have to kick off my company’s first template setup?
First Time Template Setups are considered part of the first year's subscription and expire 1 year from the service created date. You can initiate the project from inside your portal at any time within that year.
How do I report a design issue once my template setup is completed?
You can report a design issue on your template setup project by going to your portal, clicking on your user icon in the top right hand corner, clicking on “Accounts & Billing” on the drop down menu, clicking on “Migrations” in the left side menu, and clicking on “Report migration issue”.
