Last night a few folks here at HubSpot learned that the governor of Massachusetts, Deval Patrick, was going to be in our building around lunchtime.

Since several of us follow him on Twitter (@massgovernor) we sent him a bunch of notes inviting him to stop by for quick visit.

Lo-and-behold, he did! Just now!

He stopped by for 15 minutes to talk about the growth of Massachusetts' technology industry, and a photo with the team.

Isn't Twitter awesome?

That's got to be one of the happiest looking groups of people I've ever seen. Very nice. :-)

Dudes - Brad totally had to stand me up because of your Tweet-up with the Governor! Got a nice tour of the state house anyway :)

Sweet! Between this and the new administration's FOIA and WhiteHouse.Gov stuff, who knows - someday government might actually be open in a technological sense.

UniveralHub picked this up as well. You should check out the latest suggestion that the Globe should buy UH for some interesting perspective on new media too.

Some of us were in a meeting. The presentation was interrupted with "Umm, guys, the Governor is here..."

Best way to stop a meeting ever ;)

Wow! That says a lot for Hubspot. During the brief opportunity his entourage had for due dilligence, they must have decided that HubSpot was worth the Govenor's time. And Indeed you are!
