Mark Gibson is the principal of Advanced Marketing Concepts, a sales and marketing consulting firm based in the U.K. He founded his business five years ago working specifically on sales training and business development success.

"It was really important for us to to be able to find people who needed our stuff and that could opt in to contact us," said Mark in a video interview. "HubSpot really gave us that capability to clearly articulate how we help buyers."

Challenge

Advanced Marketing Concepts hired a web designer and invested a significant amount of money in a brand new site. "Quite quickly into the process we discovered that we weren't making any headway with the proposed Google AdWords campaign to identify our keywords," Mark noted. The company also didn't have any opportunity to blog and utilize social media tools within the provided site platform.

Solution

"As soon as we saw HubSpot, it was like an A-HA moment for us," said Mark. The software filled the missing piece of Admarco's methodology. It integrated inbound marketing and efficient communication, and helped the company leverage its sales. Admarco purchased the HubSpot Ownerproduct, migrated its site and got started on optimization.

"The HubSpot CMS has given us the opportunity to get back and optimize every page," said Mark. As no "computer geek" but "just a business guy trying to run a small business," Mark has been able to successfully use the HubSpot software to meet his business goals. "It gives me productivity that I wouldn't have had, and tools that allow me to do stuff that normally I couldn't do," he said.

In order to know his customer base really well, Mark uses the lead tracking tool to follow what people are interested in when they come to his website. "Just clicking on lead tracking, I can see exactly what pages they have been on, how long they have been on each specific page, and to be able to follow the line of thinking and their inquiries," he said. This information turns into valuable intelligence when visitors convert into leads.

Thesocial media monitoring tool is another product piece that Mark likes to use. He has found social networking extremely valuable in connecting with his audience. HubSpot's tool searches for his favorite industry-specific keywords and returns relevant content from the social mediasphere. "It searches Twitter and Digg, and LinkedIn and Delicious, and it brings back any stories that might be relevant for me to comment on," he said. This makes it easy and quick for Mark to build new networks and share content.

Results

"Since we have been on HubSpot we have had about 500% more leads in the past six months than we had in the previous five years," Mark said. "And it is trending up," he added. As the company works with only a handful of clients per year, a single customer could be anything from $50 000 to $150 000. That is why, Mark noted, "an inbound lead is extremely valuable to us." Admarco has now attracted leads intrernationally.

According to the company's website traffic statistics, it has accumulated a total of 1,666 new visitors in six months. The visitors increased from 76 in January to 404 in June.

It is no coincidence that blogging has been a key element in Admarco's inbound marketing strategy. The company picked up blogging as soon as it migrated its site to the HubSpot's CMS. "Once we generate a blog that's of interest, the traffic basically spikes on that day and for a few days afterwards," Mark said. The blog statistics show that Admarco's blog has attracted 192 new visitors in the last 30 days.

In order to fully optimize its social networking efforts, Admarco uses HubSpot's social Reach tool to analyze results. In June and July only, over 14% of the company's leads came through sites like Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.
