Work-Life Sustainability at HubSpot

At HubSpot, we want to empower employees to build work around their lives, and not the other way around. That’s why our values of flexibility and belonging are embedded into our company culture. (To learn more about HubSpot’s values, visit our Culture Code which has over 5M views today.) From a benefits perspective, HubSpot offers unlimited vacation, flexible work-from-home policies, generous parental leave, and remote work. Today, over 300+ employees work remotely full-time around the world and we are expanding this community rapidly. In terms of culture programming, HubSpot has an active Healthy@HubSpot resource group which offers meditation programs, fitness classes, nutrition workshops, and more. For families, our global ParentSpot employee resource group organizes events like Bring Your Kids to Work Day, resources and community discussion for parents, and virtual activities for children while parents are working-from-home.

While benefits and programming have a big impact on work-life sustainability, it’s critical that employees feel empowered to take advantage of those opportunities. That’s why HubSpot’s leadership team is invested in promoting balance and setting the tone that it’s possible. Leaders in JAPAC embrace “leaving loudly” and normalizing flexible working. For example, HubSpot’s Managing Director of JAPAC, Shahid Nizami, recently shared why flexibility is important to him as a parent, and our Director of JAPAC Customer Success shared how he’s supporting parental leave on his team.

Additionally, we believe that being able to do your best work requires a sense of belonging. That’s why Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging is a company-wide, and executive-level, priority at HubSpot. In addition to publishing our Diversity Report annually, we have a team dedicated to global diversity programming including employee resource groups like Women@HubSpot and the LGBTQ+ Alliance (which is now active in our Singapore office). These efforts, as well as psychological safety workshops and trainings for managers, help us build a company where everyone feels they belong.

Thank you again to Great Place to Work® for this exciting recognition, and to our employees in JAPAC for making it possible!

About the Best Workplaces™  in Asia List:

Great Place to Work® identifies the top organizations that create great workplaces in the Asia and Middle East regions through publishing the annual Best Workplaces™ in Asia list. The list recognizes companies in three size categories: Small & Medium (20 - 499); Large (500+); and Multinational. To be considered for inclusion, companies must appear on one or more of our national lists in the region, which includes Greater China (covering China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau), India, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka and UAE. Multinational organizations must meet the following requirements: 1) Have at least 1,000 employees worldwide, with at least 40% (or 5,000) of those employees based outside the headquarters country and 2) Appear on at least two national lists.  Multinationals also receive additional credit for their efforts to successfully create an excellent workplace culture in multiple countries in the region. The data used in the calculation of the regional list comes from national lists published in 2019 and early 2020.
