Announcing a HubSpot Marketing Hacking Event: Hackathon1

Here at HubSpot, we're working really hard on building the best Marketing Platform on earth.  We're also totally committed to exposing our API's publically, enabling developers to create Apps on top of HubSpot and sell and distribute those apps in the HubSpot App Marketplace.

In this spirit, we're making an effort to enable collaboration between different people in our development community, and Hackathons are one way that we're going to do this.  Our first hackathon, Hackathon0, was a total success with over 50 developers in attendance, 12 new app ideas worked on and 2 new apps that are live in the Marketplace so far.

Due to the success of Hackathon0, we're excited to announce our second HubSpot Hackathon: Hackathon1.  Hackathon1 is going to be held on Friday, September 16 at 5 p.m. at HubSpot headquarters in Cambridge, MA.  We're doing things a little differently this time around, and are going to be offering prizes at the event, and all who attend will be eligible to receive these prizes.  We also have a registration page for this event (admission is FREE), so please register to reserve your spot!  You can register here:

If you're planning on attending HUGS in Boston that Friday and are a developer or are interested in web application development, we hope you can come by and participate in Hackathon1.

We'll be kicking things off with a short introductory talk on the HubSpot Platform and App Marketplace by HubSpot software engineer Parker Jones.  We'll then move into a BarCamp-style 60-second app pitches with the whole group.  Anyone can pitch an idea and have it worked on.  Once all of the ideas are on the board, people can work on any of these or their own idea, whatever seems most
interesting.

Prizes will be handed out during the course of the night.  We'll be issuing raffle tickets that can result in prizes, and things that you accomplish over the course of the evening will net you more raffle tickets.  For more detail on the prizes, please check out the registration page.  We'll also be providing food (pizza), drink (beer and soda) and other snacks.
