Direct Marketing News just announced that HubSpot's very own CMO Mike Volpe made the 2012 40 Under 40 List. As you can see from the picture, he's pretty happy about it--and we are too!
Volpe joins 39 other influential marketers, many from large corporations and traditional marketing firms. His inclusion on this list demonstrates not only a job well done on his part (go Mike!), but the growing popularity of inbound marketing he has contributed to. In the past five years, Mike has helped take HubSpot's revenues from nothing to $50 million and grow its workforce from 5 to 400+. He's also been busy educating the world about inbound marketing at over 50 industry events and to his 40,000 Twitter followers.
What's his advice for fellow marketer superstars? "Build your own marketing assets, don't rent attention from someone else."
Well, those assets are starting to pay off. The idea of making marketing people love (actually love) by connecting with customers instead of interrupting them is picking up traction. Why just the other day, The New York Times wrote about the effectiveness of inbound marketing over more traditional routes!
Mike Volpe shares his thoughts about the changing marketing world saying, "During your career, the customer will gain complete control. You will no longer be able to buy attention; you will need to earn attention by becoming what your customers are interested in."
We're excited about Mike Volpe's 40 Under 40 award and the press we've been receiving, but we're more excited about the effectiveness of inbound marketing and how it's helping marketers like you enjoy your job a little more. Thank you for doing business with us and we hope to celebrate with many more awards like this in the future!
