February 2011 HubSpotter of the Month: Danielle Herzberg
Title at HubSpot: Inbound Marketing Specialist
Role at HubSpot: I provide CEOs, CMOs, and marketing directors with an introduction to inbound marketing by conducting assessments of their websites and showing them how HubSpot's tools and consulting can help. Ultimately, I'm helping companies generate revenue from free internet resources, develop business relations from the web, and drive more qualified buyers to their website.
How long have you been working at HubSpot? This is my 9th month! I started in May 2010.
Favorite Thing About Working at HubSpot: I love that the product I'm selling is applicable to every type of business out there. I might start off the morning by talking to a solar panel manufacturer about lead generation through educational webinars, then go on to teach an investment firm's marketing team how to track industry keywords through social media and end the day by consulting a university on how to simultaneously target prospective students and parents through one website.
It's hard for the day to get boring when I get to learn how to speak the language of so many different types of companies and show how each one can benefit from the same marketing product.
Hidden Talent: I have two: 1) Unintentionally memorizing historical dates. Ask me the date and time of any event in our lifetimes, and I won't disappoint you. 2) Furniture hunting on Craigslist. It really is a skill, and I believe I have just about mastered it.
If you could have one super power, what would it be? I would love to be able to speak any language at any time. Imagine traveling to any non-English speaking country in the world without having to carry a map or completely losing any jokes in translation!
What is your best, random bit of advice for inbound marketers out there: Good karma is easy to achieve through inbound marketing: The more content you give away for free, the more leads will come knocking on your door.
What are your hobbies outside of HubSpot? Outside of HubSpot, I've been participating in a "social entrepreneurship" fellowship with an organization called PresenTense, where I'm creating a business plan for a platform which will provide Russian-speaking elders with easy access to digital content.
Aside from that, I really like to travel. If you sit next to me on an airplane, I will likely start asking you about your life story before the flight takes off.
What is your favorite tool in the HubSpot software, and why? Definitely Lead Intelligence. I use it every single day, and receiving those email alert notifications every time a lead is back on HubSpot's website is an absolute game-changer. Imagine if you could run HubSpot's Lead Tracking on your Facebook profile page? Now THAT would be an addictive tool for a lot of people I know.
