What's one thing most people don't know about you?
I was a professional classical musician and full-time member of the National Radio Orchestra of Ireland for almost 7 years.
What team are you on and what does an average day look like?
I'm a Sales Engineer aka a technical member of the sales team. I normally start my day at 9am and I spend most of the morning supporting sales reps on web- and in-person meetings answering prospects' technical questions and walking them through integration scenarios, all of this with the end goal to enable good-fit prospects to purchase our software platform. After lunch, my role changes quite dramatically: my time is largely reserved for managerial activities such as various meetings, working on reports, projects and slide decks and 1:1s with my team and other internal stakeholders - all of this interrupted by the daily game(s) of ping pong. One of my favorite things about being a sales engineer is that I'm in charge of my own calendar.
What's one thing you love about the Sydney office?
It's a relatively small office and it's still possible to have a personal relationship with everybody.
What's your favorite place in the office and why?
The view of the Sydney Harbour Bridge from Level 15 always reminds me of how lucky I am to be in Sydney and in Australia.
How does HubSpot's culture help you do your best work?
I love the flexibility. It allows me to work from home on a regular basis and to join important events in my kids' life without neglecting work.
Anything else you want to add that candidates may want to know?
I started my HubSpot career as a support specialist in Dublin. At the time, there was no other office apart from Cambridge and HubSpot was a private company.
