Remote Work

Freedom to focus. Space to thrive. Remote work is never an afterthought at HubSpot.

Remote Work

Freedom to focus. Space to thrive. Remote work is never an afterthought at HubSpot.

Our philosophy

We don’t just support remote—we’ve built around it.

More than 70% of HubSpotters work remotely (we call them @home), and we’ve designed our culture, tools, and teams to make that work feel seamless and supported. When we say we’re remote first, we mean it.

Remote work not your thing? Learn about our @office or @flex options.

How remote work…works!

• @home - As an @home employee, your home office is your day-to-day workspace. You work remotely full time, but a few times a year, you might travel to a HubSpot office for team offsites or summits—moments designed for connection, collaboration, and celebration. Fun fact: 72% of HubSpot employees are based @home, so you're in great company!

• You attend new hire training and onboarding virtually from home.

• You receive a monthly remote work stipend each month to help cover the costs of working from home.

• You must work from the entity where you were hired, but you can take advantage of our 90-day temporary mobility policies.

Our commitment to connection in a remote world

In a hybrid world, building connections and maintaining a strong company culture happens by design – not default. Here’s how we intentionally spark connection and a dose of spontaneity to make it work, the HubSpot way:

MixHub

Once a month, we randomly pair employees for virtual coffee chats, helping to build relationships across teams and departments. 10,000 pairs have been matched to date.

Remote Meetups

We provide stipends for remote employees to meet up with HubSpotters in their area, creating opportunities for face-to-face interaction and meaningful shared experiences.

Location-Specific Slack Channels

Employees are automatically added to Slack channels based on their location — like ColoradoSpot or BrooklynSpot — allowing for organic conversations (like when the weather is amazing and you want to remind your peers to get some fresh air) and community building.

Community Slack Channels

From BlackHub to Families@HubSpot or CrochetSpot to TravelSpot, employees can stay connected with people that share the same interests and important identities from all around the world.

Remote Culture Champions

Culture Champions are employees around the globe who drive our culture through memorable moments of connection and celebration. Our Champions bring local HubSpotters together via quarterly events that allow our employees to connect to our culture, communities, colleagues and company’s mission.

Remote FAQ

The majority of roles at HubSpot are eligible for all three work preferences. Though a small percentage of roles require you to be in the office - think on-site facilities or IT roles. Your recruiter will set expectations during your initial conversations.

@Home employees can visit the office a maximum of twice a quarter. Depending on your team, you may also travel for department summits, team offsites, or events.

Employees may work in a country where they have work authorization for up to 90 days as part of HubSpot's temporary mobility policy. Beyond the 90-day policy, employees are only eligible to work from the country in which they are already contracted to work. In other words, if you’ve been hired to work in Germany, and your role is eligible for @home work, you can work remotely in Germany.

Unfortunately no. You must work for the country you were hired to work from.

All @home employees will receive hardware like a laptop, monitor, headset, keyboard, mouse, and cables/adapters, shipped directly to their home. HubSpot also provides monthly stipends to @home and @flex employees to set themselves up for success in home workspaces.

Yes, HubSpot offers a monthly stipend to employees to cover expenses while working from home. Talk to your recruiter to learn more.

We ask that employees choose their working preference once per calendar year. However, if an employee experiences a qualifying life event (including but not limited to a move, a marriage, a divorce, the birth or adoption of a child, or a job change), you'll have the opportunity to update your selection in order to ensure their working preference still allows them to do their best work based on new circumstances.

Combined, HubSpot’s @home and @flex communities make up 93% of our employee population. This is why we dedicate a ton of resources to making sure all employees feel a sense of community and connection to our culture. We have a robust remote meetup program with a quarterly budget to meet your local peers, in-office connection days and remote champions distributed globally. We also have countless non-work Slack channels where you can connect with peers to discuss anything from dad jokes to crochet, to baseball or even Taylor Swift.
