HubSpot Dublin has been shortlisted as a Most Committed to Diversity company by Invest in Ireland at their annual awards ceremony in the Intercontinental, Dublin on Thursday 7th November. HubSpot, along with Johnson & Johnson, Microsoft, VMware and others were highlighted in the “Commitment to Diversity” category.

HubSpot is on a mission to not only help millions of organisations grow better, but to help our employees grow better too, by building an inclusive environment where everyone can bring their authentic selves to work. Invest in Ireland recognised HubSpot Dublin for our “Cracking Inclusion” workplace event series which brings together professionals in Dublin to talk about diversity, inclusion and belonging in the workplace. Started in November 2018, Cracking Inclusion (HubSpot Dublin's first external Diversity, Inclusion, & Belonging, or DI&B, event) was created as a safe space where professionals in the Dublin community can discuss, learn and celebrate diversity in the workplace. Typically these events feature a HubSpot-moderated panel discussion with leading DI&B figures from across Ireland, followed by a Q&A session, plus networking opportunities.

The first event of the series dove into fostering an inclusive work environment touching on inclusive language, definitions of diversity & inclusion, what having a minority status means in today's working world, what 'inclusion' feels like, and how we can grow better, embrace diversity, and become more inclusive at work.

The second event in the series in April 2019 focussed on hidden diversity in the workplace, with the third event in the series coincided with Mental Health Awareness month in May 2019. The final Cracking Inclusion event of the year will take place on November 21st with a focus on accessibility in the workplace. RSVP for the event  here.

Of the nomination, Emily Scanlan, Culture Programme Manager said: “We’re passionate about creating awareness around leading diversity and inclusivity initiatives in Ireland, and learning from our peers. By creating a safe space where professionals can come and learn from each other, we are in turn hoping that workplaces and employers will be more sensitive to issues like hidden diversity, accessibility, gender, age diversity and sexuality.”

In order to move the needle on HubSpot’s DI&B efforts in Dublin, HubSpot’s Culture Team has created dedicated programs, resources, events and more. In addition to the Cracking Inclusion series, initiatives include:

  • Active Employee Resource Groups (ERGs): These ERGs provide support, resources, and community for underrepresented groups at HubSpot, and have executive sponsors who help move employee feedback to action.
    - LGBTQ+ Alliance - programming include Pride events, monthly meetups, charity events and more.
    - Women@HubSpot - programming include a quarterly book club, networking events, dedicated trainings and more.
    - ParentSpot - programming includes bi-annual Bring Your Kids to Work day, parent meetups, panels, family outing discounts, and more.
  • Dedicated DI&B Programme Managers - We have dedicated programme managers for our ERGs mentioned above. The DI&B team work on programming for Dublin (and globally) to ensure that we’re making progress on our DI&B goals.
  • Returners Programme - The Returners Programme supports the return to work of professionals who have taken an extended career break, either to focus on family, loved ones, passions, or an illness through a returnship. Learn more about the Returners Programme here.
  • We recognise that diversity, inclusion & belonging work is never ‘done’, and we want to be transparent on how we’re doing, which is why we publish our diversity report online every year.
