The first annual HubSpot User Group, HUG, has been very well received. So much, in fact, that we needed to book a bigger venue for all our excited customers and partners! With two weeks until the event and more than 300 customer registrants, HubSpot is excited to be able to continue growing registration now that the Tuesday, October 5th one-day conference has been relocated to UMass Boston's Campus Center, featuring a grand ballroom overlooking the water.

First HubSpot Customer User Group Emerges in SF Bay Area

Golden Gate BridgeJust attend a live taping of marketing video podcast HubSpot.tv on Friday afternoons and you'll experience the phenomenon we commonly refer to as 'HubSpot customer love.'  It's a great feeling to have such a vibrant customer base, but those outside of the Boston-Cambridge area don't always get to participate.  When Jonah Lopin, VP of Customers, visited San Francisco in September, we invited a few customers to dinner in the city.  The response was overwhelming, and we had to plan a second event with CEO and Founder Brian Halligan in October.  The inbound marketing wave is building steam, and you can be sure that Silicon Valley marketers are right on board.

Win a Ticket to the San Francisco Inbound Marketing Summit

by Karen Rubin

Date

Mar 6, 2009 2:56:00 PM

As part of being a sponsor of the 2009 Inbound Marketing Summit, we have the pleasure of giving away one free ticket to the first event in San Francisco!

Last week on HubSpot TV, we announced that we will hold a competition to win the ticket. In order to enter, all you have to do is the following:
  • Write a blog post about your favorite example of inbound marketing
  • Link to both www.HubSpot.tv and the Inbound Marketing Summit (No need to contact us! We should see the links come in.)
As an example of what we're we're looking for, here's an instance of inbound marketing that is very near and dear to my heart!

My father makes kinetic sculptures that are spring driven and hang on the wall. On his website, he added a blog to help create content and post animations and videos of his work, as well as have more of a conversation with people who follow him online.

A couple weeks ago, he released a new sculpture called Quandary and wrote a blog post about the designing of the sculpture. The post shows the evolution of the design and explains his thoughts as he went through the process. Yesterday, he received a call from someone who had originally seen his work in a gallery in New Orleans 14 years ago. They had found his site through Google, read the post about Quandary on his blog and called to purchase the piece!

I love this example--not only because it’s about my father--but also because the sale was made as a direct result of his great website and blog. Inbound marketing is about creating great content and making it easy for your customers to find you when they are ready to purchase, exactly what he was able to do!

I hope this help inspire you to think about your favorite example and share it with us on your blog! We look forward to hearing about it. Good luck!
