Can you tell us a little about your background and journey to HubSpot?

I joined HubSpot's Success Team after working as a People Manager for another company in the area of Customer Relations. While I loved and learned a lot about the product and the different problems it solves in HubSpot's Customer Success Team - I also very quickly realised that upselling is a strength of mine. I took the initiative and had a coffee chat with one of our Sales Recruiters and eventually applied for a sales specific role and was successful in the interview process! I never looked back and am on a good path to joining the President Club in my first year in sales. For me, this is a true testimony of the flexibility we have in HubSpot to pursue our dreams and follow our strength and passion!

Describe a typical day in your role.

As an Account Executive in the Small Business Sector, there is a good portion of sourcing involved in our role. I do actively look for potential fits for our products and reach out to them in a personalised way, through calls, videos or emails. The qualification process follows when a prospect shows interest. Through a couple of meetings, I find out more about the company's individual needs, set up an individual demo of the right product combination and after legal and closing questions have been answered and clarified, propose an offer to the client and hopefully welcome a new HubSpot customer.

A similar process also applies for our clients that are looking to grow with HubSpot. Apart from the above there is also a level of self-management and organisation required through the submission of a monthly forecast and QBR deliveries of performance and trends.

Are there any industry trends or topics that are exciting to you right now?

The development of our product excites me - the product team has been on fire over the past month and this also brings new prospects and opportunities to us in the sales team.

How are you solving for the customer?

By ensuring that they have all the information they need to make an educated decision about their commitment with HubSpot. I always ensure a fast turnaround for my clients and help them to evaluate their best plan of action when it comes to onboarding options and service solutions going forward.

In your own words, what makes working at HubSpot unique?

Our level of autonomy, our leadership team that does not engage in micromanagement and is truly supportive. Also the amount of opportunities to progress and learn internally are special and the culture of inclusion and diversity that we all respect and contribute towards.

When is the last time you left your comfort zone - personally and professionally?
I would say during my 24 months at HubSpot, I have been working outside of my comfort-zone 50% of the time.. I have hosted several webinars, some of them being short notice and hosted demo's in front of large leadership teams - all this did take some time getting used to but it really helped me grow as a person and I am very grateful that HubSpot put trust and faith in me when I was in doubt myself 😅

Outside of HubSpot, what do you like to do in your free time?
I have three children at home that keep me busy - apart from that I love to travel (another thing that is very much supported within HubSpot, yes we can work from anywhere for a certain period of time!!!)
