Can you tell us a little about your background and journey to HubSpot?

In 2019 I joined the IT world as a Sales Development Representative. I remember getting access to HubSpot as our CRM and thinking "Wow, this is some serious stuff". Years passed and in 2022, I applied for a Customer Success Manager (CSM) position at HubSpot. After a number of interviews, I got the job! Straight away I knew that this was going to be a new and exciting journey for me. New job, new company, new country. This year, in 2023 I celebrated my 1 year anniversary and I couldn't be more proud.

What work option did you pick and why?

Moving to Ireland for me meant being with my family. My family is located in Co. Waterford, therefore I immediately went for the remote option. Every few months I go to the Dublin office to meet up with my team. Even though I chose remote, I feel that personal connections are very important. There’s no better meeting than an in-person meeting. Getting together with the team is very energizing and very motivating.

What's your #HubSpotCommunity?

#dogspotting

#frogdog

With my little puppy pug, I fell in love with pugs and French bulldogs, so now I share a lot of stuff on these channels. I have a YouTube channel for Ricci, so when we have a fun video, I share it there. Or some ideas, like stay away from wasps, they like dogs.

Describe a typical day in your role.

My typical day starts early in the morning. Around 7:30- 8:00 am, I am already up and working with a cup of coffee in one hand, a laptop in the other, and a puppy on my lap. I like to be prepared for my day.

Typical day:
1. Prepare for customer calls
2. Review emails and Slack messages
3. Facilitate the customer calls
4. Send follow-up emails and add CRM notes
5. Work on admin tasks
6. Make sure my book of business is healthy

Every day is different.

How are you solving for the customer?
I always knew that being a CSM was my cup of tea. Ever since I joined the IT world I wanted to work with my customers, build relationships with them, help, and show value. Solving for the customer means helping the customer succeed in achieving the set goal using HubSpot.

Tell us about a challenge you're working to solve right now.

Working in the Small to Medium Business segment is always fun, as that segment is very volatile. Challenges make work more interesting. My current challenge is the macro environment that we can't really influence, but rather have to adapt to.

Are there any industry trends or topics that are exciting to you right now?
The field of artificial intelligence (AI). ChatSpot is an incredibly useful tool that changes my world every day.

In your own words, what makes working at HubSpot unique?
HubSpot is like no other place I worked at. People are incredibly friendly and helpful. When I joined HubSpot a year ago I didn't for a second feel lost or alone. Originally I am from Belarus, in 2020 I moved to Ukraine. Then in 2022 I had to move from Ukraine. While I was applying for the role at HubSpot, I spent two months in Portugal.

I had people around me willing to lend a helping hand, whether it was a work-related question I had, or relocation related (I did move to Ireland to join the team).

If you could go back to the beginning of your career and give yourself one piece of advice, what would it be?
"It will click"!

When I joined HubSpot,  I had to learn a lot of things. And it was overwhelming at times. When sharing this with my colleagues, I was told "Don't worry, you will get to a point when it will click and you will get it all". It did click and everything made sense at that moment going forward. Be patient, it will come to you.

Outside of HubSpot, what do you like to do in your free time?
Outside HubSpot, I am a mammy to my little black pug Ricci (it's like Richie, only spelled in an Italian way). Ricci is only a baby, he is 9 months and keeps me busy. He is my first-ever dog and I can't imagine my life without him. We travel a lot, from a pet-friendly hotel in Clonakilty (West Cork) to a pet-friendly hotel in Galway. I am a learner driver, which means I am not allowed on motorways, so we take the country roads, in fairness, they are more beautiful.

What's something that nobody would know about you?
I was raised in an orphanage. From the time I was 9 years old to the time I graduated at 17 years old. The journey was a rollercoaster, to say the least, but it made me appreciate things like family and friends, that I do not take for granted.
