What is Wave of Impact?
At HubSpot, we believe in the power of community — both the communities we build for our customers and the communities where we live and work. That's the heart of Wave of Impact, a special week-long event where HubSpotters around the world came together to make a positive difference in their local communities.
The concept is simple: one week dedicated to "Acts of Impact": purposeful actions to help communities, whether they took five minutes or a full afternoon. From bringing your own cup to the café to organizing a weekend volunteer event, every action counted during this meaningful week.
Three Ways to Make an Impact
Wave of Impact recognized that community support comes in many forms. We organized our approach around three key areas that resonated with HubSpotters worldwide:
Be a Good Neighbor: This is about showing up for your local community. It might mean participating in neighborhood cleanups, offering kind gestures to those around you or supporting neighbors in need. Sometimes the most powerful impact happens right outside your front door.
Live a Little Greener: Small sustainable practices can create significant environmental change. Whether it is choosing to bike instead of drive, starting a composting routine, or making energy conservation a habit, these everyday choices add up to meaningful environmental impact.
Give What You've Got: Everyone has something valuable to offer, whether it is time, money or expertise. This category encompasses volunteering for causes you care about, fundraising for important initiatives, or mentoring someone who can benefit from your knowledge and experience.
Real Stories from HubSpotters Around the Globe
The true power of Wave of Impact came alive in the stories of individual HubSpotters who made a difference in their communities. Here are just a few examples from our global team:
Nicole Jabaut (she/her)
Total Rewards Coordinator // @home // Montana, U.S.
Carlos Martin (he/him)
Principal Solutions Engineer // @office // Madrid, ES
What made Carlos's initiative special was how he brought people together. He organized a cross-functional team effort complete with volunteer drivers and topped it off with a community celebration. The project wrapped up with a team meal featuring "Arroz del Senyoret," celebrating a successful day helping the planet.
Andee Chua (he/him)
Culture & Inclusion Program Manager // @flex // Singapore, SG
Andee's approach demonstrates how environmental action can start with simple steps — picking up trash, reducing single-use plastic, and supporting organizations like Ocean Purpose Project — while connecting to universal values we all share. Andee shared, "No one can do everything, but everyone can do something."
Luis Sebastian Salgar Lara (he/him)
Inbound Success Coach // @home // Bogotá, CO
The tree-planting day demonstrated two powerful outcomes: meaningful environmental action and strengthened workplace unity. Sebastian is showing how our culture champions are driving community impact while building the kind of team connections that make work more meaningful.
Small Acts, Big Waves
Wave of Impact week exceeded all expectations, proving that when HubSpotters come together around shared values, remarkable things happen. With over 1,600 Acts of Impact tracked during the week, 1,070 total participants including 400 in-person event attendees and 670 virtual panel participants, HubSpotters made a huge impact around the globe and in their communities.
Perhaps the most meaningful metric might be that 84% of participants agreed that the events increased their connection to HubSpot's community and social impact work. Wave of Impact wasn’t just about changing communities, it brought us closer together and deepened the sense of purpose that drives our work.
These individual actions are creating ripple effects in communities worldwide. From Montana to Singapore, from Bogotá to Ireland, HubSpotters are discovering that small, purposeful actions can generate waves of positive change that extend far beyond what any single person might expect. If you're inspired by Wave of Impact week and what's possible when people come together, help us keep the wave flowing. HubSpotters are committed to keeping this wave going, one meaningful act at a time — because when it comes to bettering our communities, every act counts.
