Breaking Down Contract Terms: What You Need to Know

Understand the terms of your affiliate contract including device types, product categories, and regions of referrals you get paid for.

Whether you just joined the program or we've worked out a custom deal, we want to make sure you understand the terms in our affiliate contract.

For custom commissions and performance-based affiliate challenges, we look at device type, product type, and region to determine payouts that are beneficial to you as well as HubSpot. Ultimately, if you refer high-quality users, you'll get paid more.

Key terms in your HubSpot affiliate contract to familiarize yourself with:

  • Text3: The device used to sign up for HubSpot such as desktop or mobile
  • Customer Region: The location of your referral
  • Item Category: The product your referral signed up for and/or purchased
  • Text5: Internal attribution tracking

Device Type

HubSpot's customer platform is primarily a desktop solution, so mobile traffic does not perform as well as desktop traffic does due to the nature of the software.

As for regions and product types, let's break down what countries are included in each region and what specific products are included in each product signup type.

Product Pricing & Plans

HubSpot provides different Hubs (core products), each catering to different business functions:

  • Marketing Hub: Tools for inbound marketing, marketing automation, and analytics
  • Sales Hub: Helps with sales automation, tracking, and reporting
  • Service Hub: Customer support tools for managing service activities
  • Content Hub: For website content management
  • Commerce Hub: For managing payments; billing customers and collecting revenue
  • Operations Hub: Tools for data synchronization and workflow automation

The Customer Platform is a core system that unifies customer data across all these functions, bundling all the Hubs into one solution.

HubSpot follows a tiered, seat-based pricing model that unlocks access to premium features when a customer upgrades. Each Hub (and the customer platform bundle) offers several plans:
  • Free: Basic functionalities
  • Starter: Essential tools at a lower cost tailored for small businesses
  • Professional: More advanced features for growing companies
  • Enterprise: Comprehensive solutions with extensive customization and support for larger enterprises
