Video Marketing Statistics

In today’s marketing landscape, video marketing is critical. While new technology like AI is shaping the efficiency of marketers, Jonathan Grubin, founder of Sopost, makes an observation that I agree with. He says, “Many brands have lost sight of what truly connects with people — human emotion.”

Short-Form Video

  • Short-form videos, including TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts, are the most widely used video formats by marketers, with 29.18% incorporating them into their strategies. (HubSpot State of Marketing Report, 2025).
  • 21% of marketers say short-form videos deliver the highest ROI. (HubSpot State of Marketing Report, 2025).
  • Short-form video is the leading content format marketers intend to prioritize, with 17.13% planning to increase their investment in it. (HubSpot State of Marketing Report, 2025).
  • More than one in three video marketers say that the optimal video is just one to three minutes long, and 96% agree that videos should be less than 10 minutes long  (HubSpot State of Marketing Report, 2023).
  • 73% of consumers prefer to watch a short-form video to learn about a product or service (The Leap, 2023).
  • YouTube Shorts had the highest engagement rate (5.91%) of all short-form video platforms in Q1 2024. TikTok followed closely with an engagement rate of approximately 5.75%, while Facebook Reels recorded an engagement rate of around 2%. (Statista, 2024).
  • The average length of TikTok videos increased to 42.7 seconds in 2024, up from 39 seconds in 2023 (Statista, 2024).
  • TikTok videos lasting over 54 seconds averaged 38,000 views, while shorter videos received fewer views. Videos under 10 seconds got the lowest engagement, with around 19,000 views. (Statista, 2023).
  • YouTube Shorts had an average of 2 billion monthly viewers as of July 2023. (Statista, 2023).
  • Most YouTube Shorts are 30-40 seconds long. 50-60 seconds Shorts get the most views. (INFLOW Network, 2023).
