The Ask

Here's your task: Record a video (under 10 minutes long) that directly addresses the quarterly prompt (this quarter is: "What does inbound mean to your business?"). The video can be done in any style, but it must be intelligible (any spoken audio must be clear and any written words must be legible). In order to win, your submission must provide a thoughtful analysis of the prompt that would make a unique contribution to our HubSpot Academy Youtube channel and other social accounts.

"Hi, my name is Maria, and I'm a sales rep at Fake Company, Inc. For me, inbound is all about doing business in a way that your customers love. When I get off a call with a potential client, I want them to feel like I've helped them get closer to their goals. Because, if I'm just in there trying to hit my quota, they'll be able to tell, and they probably won't buy from me. Worse, they might tell their friends not to buy from me, and then it'll just get harder and harder for me to hit my quota in the future. But, if they can tell that I'm really invested in helping them succeed, then they'll want to do business with me - and not just once, but again and again. And, if they tell their friends to do business with me, too, then my job as a salesperson actually gets easier over time. And that's what inbound is to me: it's about doing business in a way that's good for both Fake Company, Inc., and for our customers."
