The Learning & Talent Development (L&TD) team is looking for a dynamic Principal Learning & Development Partner to build and drive critical talent development programs and priorities, with a particular focus on career growth and employee development. 

This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of how HubSpotters grow. You’ll work across the business to design scalable, innovative, and AI-powered approaches to learning and career development. 

You’ll bring a track record of implementing career development programs and employee growth strategies that not only inspire employees but also accelerate business performance. We’re looking for a strategic, results-oriented leader who thrives on autonomy, drives alignment across teams, and isn’t afraid to pilot bold new approaches.

What You’ll Do:

  • Drive execution and impact: Lead end-to-end design, implementation, and evaluation of critical career growth and talent development programs, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities.
  • Champion innovation & AI: Research, evaluate, and integrate AI-driven tools and methodologies to reimagine learning experiences, accelerate skill development, and personalize growth at scale.
  • Conduct needs analysis:  Identify skill gaps and development opportunities, gain an intimate understanding of the learner context, and analyze feedback from existing programs to implement continuous improvements. 
  • Design impactful experiences: Design, develop, and implement learning experiences that are AI first, innovative, engaging and impactful, using instructional design best practices, and experimenting with emerging technology.
  • Deliver synchronous learning: Facilitate the delivery of virtual and in person learning experiences to a variety of audiences. 
  • Make strategic decisions: Confidently assess and select learning solutions that deliver measurable results, rallying stakeholders around a clear vision and plan.
  • Model cross-functional collaboration: Build trusted relationships with leaders and stakeholders across the business to drive alignment and maximize adoption of talent development programs.
  • Leverage data for improvement: Use metrics, feedback, and AI-powered insights to continuously assess program effectiveness, improve learner outcomes, and drive strategic decisions.
  • Lead change: Design and deliver change management strategies to support successful adoption of new approaches and evolving talent practices.
  • Mentor & guide peers: Provide thought leadership and mentorship within the L&TD team, sharing expertise and supporting the growth of others.

You Might Be a Fit If:

  • You have 8+ years of experience in learning & development, talent management, or a related field—designing programs that deliver measurable impact across employees, managers, and senior leaders.
  • You bring deep expertise in instructional design, adult learning principles, and modern approaches that make learning engaging, impactful, and scalable.
  • You’ve applied AI and emerging technologies to reimagine solutions that solve for learning and career development - pioneering smarter, more personalized solutions.
  • You have a proven track record of creating and delivering learning and talent development experiences that drive both individual growth and organizational performance.
  • You’re highly skilled in program / project management, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and deliver high-quality results in fast-paced environments.
  • You’re an experienced facilitator who can deliver impactful learning experiences both virtually and in person for a wide range of audiences.
  • You’re a collaborative partner and strong communicator, able to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels and drive alignment across teams.
  • You thrive in autonomy - prioritizing effectively, making strategic decisions with confidence, and rallying others around a clear vision and plan.
  • You’ve worked with external vendors and suppliers to deliver high-impact learning solutions.
  • You bring a growth mindset, with the courage to pilot bold new approaches and the curiosity to continuously learn and evolve.

Cash compensation range: 138000-221000 USD Annually


Pay & Benefits

The cash compensation below includes base salary, on-target commission for employees in eligible roles, and annual bonus targets under HubSpot’s bonus plan for eligible roles. In addition to cash compensation, some roles are eligible to participate in HubSpot’s equity plan to receive restricted stock units (RSUs). Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay. Individual compensation packages are tailored to your skills, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.
