About the Role

HubSpot is searching for a strategic and empathetic design leader to join our User Experience organization and drive the vision for our Upmarket segment — a rapidly growing customer base that represents HubSpot’s highest-value opportunity. The Director of UX for Upmarket will shape how larger and more complex businesses experience HubSpot, leading a talented team of designers to create intuitive, powerful, and scalable solutions that help our customers grow.

This role sits at the intersection of design craft, strategy, and business impact. You’ll partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Research leadership to set the long-term vision for how HubSpot serves Upmarket customers and ensure that the experience quality meets the same high bar that defines our product-led growth model.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and scale a team of experienced product designers (and researcher) responsible for end-to-end experience design across the Upmarket product area.

  • Shape the UX strategy for the Upmarket customer journey — balancing enterprise-grade needs with HubSpot’s hallmark simplicity.

  • Partner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Research to define objectives, prioritize opportunities, and drive clarity from complexity.

  • Evolve our admin experience and other key surfaces that support enterprise-level governance, access management, data privacy, and multi-user collaboration.

  • Champion design quality and craft — coaching designers to deliver consumer-grade experiences while solving enterprise-scale problems.

  • Establish systems and frameworks that help teams work efficiently across multiple product lines and customer contexts.

  • Build team health and culture, ensuring a strong sense of belonging, purpose, and professional growth across distributed teams (US East Coast + EMEA).

  • Represent the customer in strategic discussions and help influence executive decisions with clear storytelling and design insight.

What You’ll Bring

  • Experience managing design managers, senior ICs and user researchers

  • Experience leading design in B2B SaaS, ideally within commerce, platform, or administrative systems for mid-market to enterprise customers.

  • Fluency in platform design and information architecture, able to connect systems thinking with human-centered execution.

  • Strong strategic acumen — able to balance long-term vision with near-term delivery and business outcomes.

  • Technical fluency — comfortable working in complex technical domains, collaborating closely with engineers, and understanding platform constraints.

  • Track record of coaching high-performing designers to elevate craft, clarity, and impact.

  • Ability to thrive in ambiguity, bringing structure to complex problems while maintaining empathy and creativity.

Why This Role Matters

HubSpot’s goal is to grow from a $1B to $2B+ business by 2028, and Upmarket customers are key to achieving that vision. These customers drive the majority of our revenue, represent higher retention, and have significantly greater lifetime value.
This leader will have direct impact on how we evolve our product offering and experience to meet the sophistication, governance, and scale needs of our fastest-growing segment.

You’ll be joining at a time when the Upmarket product experience is maturing — ripe for innovation, definition, and leadership. This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of HubSpot’s most strategically important user base and guide a passionate, talented team doing their best work.
