Position Overview

We’re looking for a strategic, creative, and deeply skilled communicator to lead executive communications for HubSpot’s Chief Product & Technology Officer (CPTO) supporting broader Product Pillar communications. This role will shape and amplify the strategic narrative of HubSpot’s Product & Technology organization across the Product Pillar and all of HubSpot by translating vision into storytelling that connects, inspires, and drives action.

You’ll craft narratives that help our teams and audiences understand where we’re going, why it matters, and how we’ll get there. You’ll partner directly with the CPTO and his leadership team to bring clarity, alignment, and energy to everything from all hands communications to leadership updates.

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced communications leader who thrives on blending strategy, storytelling, and influence - someone who can zoom out to define a point of view, and zoom in to write with precision and voice. We’re looking for someone who is bold in their thinking, humble enough to keep learning, and comfortable adapting and pivoting, fast. You’ll bring curiosity, creativity, and composure to complex situations, helping us tell stories that move people and shape how we grow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with the CPTO to articulate a compelling vision for innovation, AI, and customer impact, ensuring consistency across internal and external channels.
  • Lead and shape executive thought leadership, including speeches, keynotes, social posts, and industry communications in close partnership with Marketing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners (Comms, Marketing, PR, and People) to align storytelling and amplify impact.

Executive Communications and Messaging

  • Lead end-to-end communications for the CPTO, partnering closely with the Product Chief of Staff on org meetings, leader communications, product launches and
  • employee updates.
  • Write crisp, compelling, and human-centered content that reflects the CPTO’s authentic voice.
  • Support the development of presentations, Q&As, and strategic talking points for internal and external engagements.
  • Ensure messages cascade effectively across the Product Pillar, building clarity, confidence, and connection.

Leadership Partner and Advisor

  • Serve as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to the CPTO and Product & Technology leadership team.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to strengthen the CPTO’s internal and external brand.
  • Coach and advise leaders on storytelling, presence, and message delivery in high-impact settings.
  • Navigate complex, fast-moving environments with sound judgment and discretion.

Change and Influence

  • Translate complex strategies, technical updates, and organizational change into accessible, inspiring communications.
  • Drive alignment across multiple stakeholders and functions to ensure communications are cohesive, timely, and audience-first.
  • Partner with Internal Communications and Change Enablement to connect the dots between business priorities and employee experience.

Qualifications

  • 12–15+ years of experience in executive communications, strategic storytelling, or related roles ideally within a high-growth, technology, or product-driven organization.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills across formats (speechwriting, narratives, long-form, and short-form).
  • Experience supporting C-level executives with discretion, empathy, and strategic acumen.
  • Strong understanding of technology, product development, and innovation narratives (bonus if you have experience communicating about AI or SaaS).
  • Proven ability to think strategically and execute quickly balancing creativity with clarity and precision.
  • Deep understanding of how to use AI tools to enhance creativity, research, and content development (we really love AI and you should too).
  • Collaborative, adaptable, and unflappable under pressure, able to connect dots across teams and translate complexity into clarity.
  • Brings HEART (Humility, Empathy, Adaptability, Remarkableness, Transparency) to every interaction.
